Blue Earth Community Library Mural

Blue Earth Community Library, Minnesota

Last Saturday, I traveled to Blue Earth, Minnesota, to take part in their Giant Days parade and to be part of the dedication of the new literary look they’ve created for their library.

Here’s what the completed wall at the Blue Earth Community Library and Fossil Discovery Center looks like with all the photos in place. At the far end is Mark Twain, then Laura Ingalls Wilder, Dr. Seuss, and finally me. You can see clearly the size of the murals. In Minnesota, the worst thing you can be accused of is “getting the big head.” Guess I have to plead guilty. My eternal thanks go out to Lillian Robinson, the Friends of the Library, and the library staff for placing me alongside these beloved storytellers. I have never felt more honored.

  1. I am reading my first book of yours I found in our local new and used book store, I love it! Your style, subject matter, and characters are wonderful! I am a mised blood Oglala woman and have come to a point where I deeply prefer Indigenous mysteries, so I get to learn about other tribes and enjoy the mystery of the story. I am hoping to find copies of the rest of your books at our local book store! Thank you for the wonderful work you do!
